Google has launched a healthcare supply chain for the first time, with its partnership with Betadine Solutions, which will help UK hospitals adapt to the growing need for new medical equipment.
The company, which is one of the world’s largest suppliers of healthcare supplies, said its new healthcare supply solutions will be available from its UK and European warehouses in the coming months.
Its UK distribution partners include British and European healthcare suppliers including UK-based UK Healthcare and UK-run GSA Healthcare.
In an announcement, the company said its UK supply chain will support the delivery of the healthcare equipment that is required in the UK, while its European partners will also support this.
“It is vital that healthcare providers and hospitals are able to supply the medical equipment that meets the changing needs of patients, staff and healthcare workers,” it said in a statement.
“We are delighted to work with Betadeine Solutions to deliver this service and help UK healthcare providers deliver a range of solutions to meet the evolving needs of their patient populations.”
The healthcare equipment manufacturers Betadide Solutions and GSA are two of the largest suppliers in the United Kingdom.
In March, the UK’s Health and Social Care Information Centre said there were 6.7 million UK-born children aged under 16 living in families living with parents with a disability.
The figures showed a large number of these children are living with their parents with disabilities.
Betadine said in the statement that its supply chain partners are committed to working with healthcare providers to deliver the best healthcare solutions, and that its delivery partners will provide the equipment to meet this demand.
“While this will be an exciting opportunity for healthcare providers, we are also delighted to be able to provide a range, and to help them adapt to these new demands,” it added.
Betadeine said its first-of-its-kind delivery solutions will offer UK-supplied equipment that can be used to provide more comprehensive healthcare to its patients.
The healthcare supply company said it expects its first supply solution to be available for use within the next 18 months, with further solutions to follow.
It said it would also be able “to deliver its solutions to other healthcare companies to help provide better healthcare to the UK”.
Betadide is a US-based healthcare technology company.
