Homeowners who live in a large city may not be aware of the risks of leaking their own homes.
A survey conducted by PropertyLine revealed that 40 per cent of owners of homes in Sydney’s CBD report having problems with water and sewer leaks.
The results, released by the city’s Department of Housing and Community Development, also found that 28 per cent reported their home to have water and sewage leaks.
In Victoria, 26 per cent experienced leaks of at least one metre of water.
Meanwhile, Queenslanders were more likely to report problems with leaky pipes and water systems, with 32 per cent reporting problems with the city.
The survey was conducted in March and April.
The survey, conducted by propertyline, revealed that:Homeowners with children are more likely than other households to have problems with leaks.
It also found a link between home ownership and problems with homes in general.
A whopping 40 per 100,000 households owned a house or house-related business in Queensland, compared to 22 per 100 000 households in NSW and 15 per 100 600 in Western Australia.
