A new software tool that can identify and block Facebook ads is being tested on Facebook’s platforms, including its own Messenger service, according to the company.
In a blog post, Facebook said that it is testing a tool called “Adblock Plus,” which was developed by the company’s engineering team.
The company said that “AdBlock Plus” is a tool that “helps you block Facebook advertising and content that’s harmful to you, your family, and the world around you.”
Facebook has been working on a solution to block ads on Messenger for more than a year, as well as a tool to block specific ads.
The Messenger service uses an API to send ads to Facebook, and Facebook is able to identify which ads are on Messenger and how they are being served.
The Messenger service is designed to make it easy for people to share content that they find important, while limiting the amount of advertising that is served.
However, the social network recently said that ads will be blocked for users in the United States and Canada if the user has an “adblock” or “no-ads” policy, meaning they do not want to see ads on the site.
AdblockPlus, according a screenshot shared on Twitter by Facebook, works by looking for a unique identifier that identifies a user as a subscriber.
When it is looking for that identifier, it will then use the user’s address and profile information to identify them as a user who has blocked ads from the site in their area.
The service then sends a notification to that address and the user can change their ad settings.
Facebook’s software will then block specific advertisements, according the blog post.
“If you decide to stop ad-blocking in the US and Canada, we’ll provide you with a guide on how to do so,” Facebook said.
“You can also see what ads we’ll block based on the region you live in.
In the meantime, you can visit our Adblock Plus dashboard to learn more about our tools and how to block them.”
Facebook is not the only platform that is testing AdblockPlus.
Twitter also recently tested AdblockPro, a new tool that allows users to manage which ads they see on their favorite websites.
The company said it will release updates to Adblock Pro on a daily basis, and is working on adding more features for users to better manage their ads.
