Ramsey solutions UK, the UK-listed healthcare IT company founded by former Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, is launching its first ever business in Australia.
The new service is designed to deliver the high-quality and reliable health solutions to more than 40,000 of the country’s senior citizens.
The company has built a brand-new business on the back of the health and social care sector, which it describes as one of the world’s largest employers and one of its biggest customers.
The first customers of Ramsey’s health solutions will be those who are aged 60 years and older, according to a release.
Ahead of the launch, the company has teamed up with PrimeEmployer, a health care IT provider that helps senior citizens and others in the workplace manage their own health care, to offer its first-ever “premier employer solution” to the company’s 40,500 senior employees.
PrimeEmployer will be offering customers access to a suite of productivity software, including an Excel spread sheet, and its own healthcare analytics software.
It is also launching its own online platform, PrimeEmployee Solutions, to help senior employees access their own healthcare information, including their prescriptions, prescriptions notes, insurance information, and more.
The PrimeEmployor Solutions will be free to all customers, including those working on a salary of up to $75,000 per annum, and will be available on Macs and PCs as well as tablets and smartphones.
The platform will offer a suite, which includes a suite for managing prescriptions, which is intended for older workers, as well.
“We are excited to be partnering with PremierEmployer to bring the PrimeEmployers Health Solution to senior citizens across Australia,” Ramsey CEO, Mark Taylor, said.
Ramsey has been building up its business since 2014, when the company bought a controlling stake in the Australian Medical Association, which was at the time the largest employer in the country.
In 2015, the firm invested $50 million in its Australian operations.
It also launched a new Australian office last year in Melbourne, which employs around 40 staff.
Ramseys CEO Mark Taylor said the company was targeting the next stage of its strategy, where it aims to expand its Australian office to more of its key markets in 2017.
“Our focus is to deliver a suite that we think will be an excellent fit for the needs of the Australian market and will provide a suite to enable us to offer a more comprehensive suite of solutions to the senior citizen population,” he said.
The launch of the new health solution will be a milestone for the company.
It has been around for more than two decades, and it is one of Australia’s biggest employers, with about 5,000 people working in the company, according a release from the company released by the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
Its chief executive Mark Taylor has previously been involved in the management of the UK’s Royal Free Hospital, where he was responsible for the healthcare sector.
The Australian office of Ramseys will be located in London’s West End, in the former home of the Royal Exchange.
Ramsey employs about 4,000 employees, including a senior executive and a manager.
